Recently, Amazon has made a slight change to their newest client tools in order to support some new features. Unfortunately, the new tools will not work with Eucalyptus version 1.3, or earlier, due to a name-space conflict. We're putting in more robust interface for Eucalyptus 1.4 which will be resilient to future, minor client tool updates, but for now we advise either keeping your current working EC2 client tools installed for Eucalyptus, or to download and older version of the tools which we know to work with Eucalyptus versions <= 1.3.
