Hi All,
I am using Eucaluptus 1.5.2 / Opensuse/Xen

I have seen that the TCP throughput is around 6 Gbps between the two virtual machines on the same physical machines. (i.e. inter-VM communication).
But the UDP throughput for inter-VM communication is only 1.7 Gbps. Which is quite low. Theoratically UDP performance should be more than TCP. But here reverse is happening.
I tried the same experiment without Eucalyptus installed, but the results are same for inter-VM Commuication .

I am using "iperf" and "nuttcp" tools for mesuring the network performance.

Can anbody help me out , why the UDP performance is low in inter-VM communication.

Hello M Paul,

can you be a bit more specific of your experiment and the network mode you used? And which options you used in your experiments?

cheers
