Greetings Everyone,
The Eucalyptus team would like to announce the release of version 1.3
of our system. We are releasing 1.3 in response to the release of a
new version of EC2 command-line tools by Amazon. The new EC2 tools
support additional functionality (namely, the Elastic Block Store),
but due to an interface specification change they do not work with
Eucalyptus 1.2. Eucalyptus 1.3 restores compatibility with the
newest version of EC2 tools (version 1.3-24159).
Since there are no new features, upgrading to 1.3 is only necessary
if you or your users would like to use the most recent EC2 command-
line tools. Older tools, which are still available from Amazon, will
continue working with both Eucalyptus and EC2, you just won't be able
to use the Elastic Block Store through them. The last version of EC2
tools that works with Eucalyptus 1.2 can be downloaded here

If you do decide to upgrade, you can either follow the standard
installation path, as described by the Administrator's Guide, or you
may find it easier to patch your 1.2 system as described on the
following page

As always, we are thankful to everyone who has provided feedback,
which is helping us improve the next feature release.
The Eucalyptus Team
