Greetings,

We would like to thank the users who have reported installation problems with some of the 1.5.1 packages, specifically the Debian Lenny, Ubuntu and offline source packages. In response, we have posted new packages that resolve these problems, and recommend that users who have downloaded the following files:

eucalyptus-1.5.1-debian-i386.tar.gz
eucalyptus-1.5.1-debian-amd64.tar.gz
eucalyptus-1.5.1-ubuntu-i386.tar.gz
eucalyptus-1.5.1-ubuntu-amd64.tar.gz
eucalyptus-1.5.1-src.tar.gz

should click above to get the fixed packages (the links on the main downloads page also point to the fixed packages).

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience, and encourage users to continue reporting any troubles, and want to thank, again, the users (especially buzzdee and cray23kl) who have helped us uncover these issues!

Regards,
The Eucalyptus Team

Re: 1.5.1 installation problems (SOLVED)

It would be nice if the Debian packages pulled in some of the dependencies:
. eucalyptus-nc -- rsync (for key sync)

It might also be nice to create a package ec2-tools-depends that pulls in dependencies for the ec2 tools (even if you have to get the tools themselves seperately..)
. ruby, ruby-common, curl, etc.

Did you guys update the packages on the download page?

'cause that is the main entrance for the most first time user.
